Messages - Receiving Notifications from the App

The app will send you notifications. Notifications are used to give you information about the app. Notifications help you troubleshoot problems with your network connection or problems with connecting your phone or tablet to your heart device. Message Preferences may vary by your geography. All message preference options may not be available in your geography.

Email

You can get notifications via email. Set up email notifications in the Message Preferences section of the app.

Email notifications may not be available in all geographies.

Text Message

You can get notifications via text message. Set up text message notifications in the Message Preferences section of the app.

App Notifications

These notifications are sent from the Medtronic CareLink Network to the app and appear on your phone or tablet.

What the notification means

Open MyCareLink Heart so the app can reconnect your heart device and clinic.

You will see this notification if the app has not been able to communicate with your heart device for 4 days.

Reopen the app from your phone or tablet’s home screen. Check that the app is Active or address any messages on the Home tab. The phone or tablet must be near you throughout the day, and the app must be open and running in the background for the app to remain Active.

Your scheduled transmission was not received on DD-MM-YYYY. Open the app to send a transmission.

You will receive this notification if you missed a scheduled automatic transmission by more than 5 days. When a scheduled automatic transmission is missed, your clinic may request that you send a manual transmission.

Missed automatic transmissions can be caused by one or more of the following issues:

  • Check that the app is Active or address any messages on the Home tab.

  • The app is not open and running in the background.

  • Your phone or tablet is not near you when a scheduled automatic transmission is scheduled to occur.

The app will provide information to help you troubleshoot the cause of the missed automatic transmission.

You will receive this notification when your clinic successfully receives your heart device data transmission.
