Sending a Manual Transmission

Your clinic may ask you to manually send a transmission.

Only send a transmission manually if your clinic asked you to send one.

Your phone or tablet battery must be charged to use the app. The app will not send transmissions if the phone or tablet is turned off or is off because the battery is not adequately charged.

Your phone or tablet must have the Bluetooth® wireless connection turned on. The app will not be able to receive data from your heart device without a Bluetooth® wireless connection.

Bluetooth® must be turned on for the app in your phone or tablet’s app permissions settings.

If you have an Android™* phone or tablet, the battery optimization setting must be turned off for you to send manual transmissions. When battery optimization is turned on, the app cannot transfer data between your heart device and the Medtronic CareLink Network.

Your phone or tablet must be connected to the Internet. The app will not be able to send a transmission to your clinic without an Internet connection.

You must stay between 6 inches (15 cm) and 3 feet (1 m) of your phone or tablet until the transmission is complete. The communication between your heart device and the app could be interrupted if you do not stay close to your phone or tablet. The app displays a notification when your clinic receives your transmission.

  1. From the Dashboard tab, tap Messages.

  2. Tap Send Transmission.

A message prompts you to confirm that your clinic knows you are manually sending a transmission.

  3. Tap YES.

The app will begin sending the transmission. The app will provide instructions during the transmission process.

Sending a transmission will take up to three hours. Keep the app open and running in the background until the transmission is sent.
